How to Play Sudoku
Fill every empty cell with a number from 1 to 9. Each row, column, and 3×3 box must contain each number exactly once. The starting numbers cannot be changed.
Start with a cell
Select an empty cell, then choose a number from the number pad. Select an entered number to revise it. On a keyboard, use the number keys, arrow keys, and Backspace or Delete while the game is focused.
Keep pencil notes
Turn on Notes, select an empty cell, and choose possible numbers. Choose a candidate again to remove it. Turn Notes off to enter a final number. Notes are not automatically generated or removed from other cells.
Rethink an entry
Erase clears the selected editable cell. Undo reverses an edit from this visit. A red entry means the number repeats in its row, column, or box. An entry that is not red can still be wrong, so use the rules to reason it out.
Get a little help
Select an empty cell, then choose Hint to fill that cell with its answer. Hints also clear notes in that cell. There is no hint limit; your completed result includes the count.
Come back when you like
Your progress is saved in this browser. Switching devices or clearing site data will not carry it over. The timer pauses when the tab is hidden, and there is no time limit. The board is complete when all final digits match its unique solution.
A new daily puzzle becomes available at your local midnight. It never interrupts your current solve. Reload or choose Load New Puzzle after finishing to start the new day.
